What is a SPRAINS AND STRAINS?
Ligaments, the tight bands of fibrous tissue that connect two bones in your joints, stretch or rip, causing a sprain. The most common sort of injury is an ankle sprain.
The first therapy includes rest, cold, compression, and elevation. Mild sprains can be easily treated at home. Surgery is occasionally required to mend torn ligaments in severe sprains.

What are the SYMPTOMS of SPRAINS AND STRAINS ?
Depending on the severity of the injury, the following signs and symptoms may appear:

Ability to move the afflicted joint is limited.
At the time of the injury, you may hear or feel a “pop” in your joint.
Causes of SPARAINS AND STRAINS?
When you overextend or tear a ligament while significantly stressing a joint, you get a sprain. Sprains are common in the following situations:
Ankle – Landing awkwardly from a jump while walking or exercising on an uneven surface.
Knee — During a sporting exercise, pivoting
Wrist — During a fall, landing on an outstretched hand.
When playing racquet sports, such as tennis, the thumb can be injured or overextended
